About the Digital Commons at Ball State University
The Ball State University Digital Commons is a portal to thousands of online resources provided by the University Libraries. With the debut of the Digital Commons, students, faculty, and staff are now able to access thousands of digital resources at the desktop for teaching, learning, and research.
Resources available through the Digital Commons include:
Digital Media Repository including access to over 67,000 images, videos, audio, journals, newspapers, and other digital objects produced at Ball State University to support the educational process.
Images and More including sources for Art and Architecture, General Interest, Image Collections at Ball State, State Collections, U.S. History, and World History.
Digital Video Collections including sources for Ball State's Video Collections, other universities' signature collections, national and international news, web cams, video blogs, and video sharing sites.
Articles and Databases including subject and title access to thousands of articles through over 190 academic databases
Electronic Journals including subject, title, and keyword access to over 10,000 online journals
e-Books including access to thousands of titles through 28 electronic book lists and 14 directly linked individual titles
Electronic Theses and Dissertations Including access to Ball State Master's theses, College of Architecture and Planning undergraduate theses, undergraduate senior honors theses, and two major databases of theses and dissertations
Virtual Reference Resources Including access to more than 200 web resources
Ball State Virtual Press Including access to publications and videos produced by Ball State students and faculty
Geographic Information System (GIS) Resources including access to 62 online GIS and mapping related resources
Ball State Institutional Repository which will include scholarly works in a variety of formats produced by Ball State students and faculty
World Wide Web Resources including subject, title, and keyword access to hundreds of web sites in a variety of categories, from arts and the humanities to business
