* To access these services, please go to CardCat. A PIN (Personal Identification Number), which is needed for the above marked services, may be obtained by:
- Coming to Main Circulation, Bracken Library.
- Calling Main Circulation at (765) 285-5143 to have your PIN mailed.
- Completing an online PIN Request Form. For security reasons, we can e-mail your PIN only to a Ball State University e-mail account.
OTHER CIRCULATION SERVICES
Borrowing
Eligible materials may be checked out upon presentation of a valid BSU ID, Resident Card or Alumni Card and photo ID.
Searches
A user unable to locate a specific book in the stacks may request a search slip at the Main Circulation Counter in Bracken Library. The completed search slip should be attached to a CardCat printout of the desired item. When the requested book is located, the user will be notified by mail that it is being held for him/her.
Hold Material
When a user has been notified that a searched or recalled book is available, the book will be held for one week at the Main Circulation Counter in Bracken Library.
24-Hour Hold Shelf
If a user has failed to bring a valid ID card, materials may be kept for him/her at the Main Circulation Counter for 24 hours. Materials will be returned to the stacks if not claimed.
