Should you use it?: Tips for Evaluating Information (Ball State University Libraries)

Things to consider:

• Who is the author of the book, article, or website? What are his/her credentials or experience?
• Does the author cite other works? Is there a bibliography?
• Who is the publisher of the book or article? Who is the host of the website?
• What biases do you perceive in the information?
• Is the level and amount of information appropriate for your project?
• Does the information presented contradict other sources you’ve read?
