An Honors Undergraduate
For the fall semester of 2008, Austin was granted the opportunity to participate in the Honors Undergraduate Fellowship program. Early in the semester, he was trained in Final Cut Pro and became Apple Certified in the video editing program. For the remainder of the semester, under the supervision of Telecommunications faculty advisor Betsy Pike, Austin wrote, filmed, and edited Modern Masculinity. Austin administered an online poll that fifty current Ball State students took to reveal young adults' perception of masculinity.

The 25-minute film was showcased in the Letterman Screening room in the David Letterman Communication and Media Building on February 17 and 19, 2009. Ball State students and faculty were in attendance. Also in attendance was Roger Young, an Emmy award-winning, international director, writer and producer, and the Edmund F. and Virginia Ball Endowed Chair at the Telecommunications Department at Ball State University.
Austin Hepp is from Fishers, Indiana. He is an undergraduate student at Ball State University aspiring to graduate with a major in Telecommunications, minor in French, and an Honors diploma as a member of the Ball State Honors College. He is a Production student within the Telecommunications department with a focus on video editing.
