Biographical Note

Stanley Huseland was a newspaper reporter and has also held management positions in governmental affairs, public relations, and advertising at Anthem Insurance. He is a member and officer of the Indianapolis Press Club. Huseland was a member of the public relations staff of the 1962 campaign of Senator Birch Bayh and served as press secretary to Indiana Lieutenant Governor Robert L. Rock 1965-1969. He is the author of Political Warrior: The Life and Times of L. Keith Bulen.

L. Keith Bulen, the subject of Huseland’s book, is best known for his prolific political career. Born in Madison County, Indiana in 1926, Bulen earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Indiana University in 1952 and began practicing law. Bulen would then go on to become involved in every level of government and politics, from local to international. He was involved in the successful campaign of Richard G. Lugar, and later worked in the Reagan administration on the International Joint Commission in an effort to alleviate tensions and prevent problems between the United States and Canada. Bulen died in Greenwood, Indiana on January 4, 1999.
