About Us

The Archives & Special Collections staff collects, preserves, and provides access to archival and printed materials that support the research and instructional needs of students, faculty, national and international scholars, and the general public.

We offer access to collections of photographs and archival documents for research, class projects, instruction, or publication, including scanning upon request. The Staff provides reference service and research assistance on-site or by telephone, written correspondence, e-mail, and fax. We also instruct classes, provide records management of Ball State University materials, provide exhibits in the University Libraries, preserve materials in a humidity and temperature controlled environment, and consult with organizations and individuals concerning preservation techniques.
