Research Guidelines

General

  1. Archives and Special Collections is open to the Ball University community and the public.
  2. Researchers will be asked to complete a registration form before handling materials.
  3. All materials must be used in the Archives and Special Collections reading room. No materials circulate.

Reading Room

  1. Smoking, drinking, and eating is not permitted in the reading room.
  2. Backpacks, briefcases, packages and books are not permitted at research tables but must be deposited in designated areas.
  3. Researchers should exercise care in handling Archives and Special Collections material.
  4. Please preserve the original order of the papers within a folder and the folders within containers.
  5. Use pencil only when taking notes. No pens.
  6. Laptops permitted.
  7. Do not write on or fold papers.

Copying

  1. Digital cameras are permitted.
  2. Photocopying of Archives and Special Collections materials may be permitted if damage to the documents is not likely to occur.
  3. The cost per copy is $0.10 without a Copy Card and $0.06 with a Copy Card. For more information on obtaining a Copy Card, visit here.
