A focus of the University Archives is to establish University-wide records retention schedules, usually called Records Retention & Disposition Authorizations. The purpose of these schedules is to codify retention policies for record types which are common to all offices across the organization. Rather than making each office secure its own specific retention schedule (as otherwise required by State Statute), the University Archives develops university-wide general records retention schedules which can be used by all offices to determine the retention and disposition of their similar records.
Records Retention and Disposition Authorizations:
- Administrative Records
- Board of Trustees Records & Committee Records
- Curriculum Records
- Fiscal Records
- Payroll & Personnel Records
- Student Records
- Records Not Retained
