Modern Languages and Classics
Program Length
Language majors typically take four years, but you should begin language study early. Get in touch with a foreign language faculty advisor about arranging courses to meet your needs.

The 100- and 200-level courses in foreign languages are sequential and must be taken in order. Only course work at the 200-level and above will apply toward any major or minor in the department, except for Chinese, Greek, and classical culture, in which first-year courses may be counted.
