Career and Technical Education
The career and technical education program prepares you to teach in career and technical programs in high schools, area career and technical education centers, and other technical institutions.

You will take courses in your major as well as in technology, manufacturing, and computer programming. You will also take courses in teacher education and educational methods.

Students may earn from 28-32 hours of credit for occupational experience and technical competence. Contact the program advisor for more information.

  • The program prepares you to teach in career and technical programs in high schools, area career and technical education centers, and other technical institutions.
  • Career and technical education teachers also serve as trade or occupational teachers.
  • By completing additional course work, career and technical education teachers may become certified as cooperative career and technical education coordinators. 
  • You can receive credit for previous occupational experience.
