Ball State University has teamed with Apple Computer to offer discounted hardware and software to students, faculty and staff. The Computer Showcase Store is an authorized campus reseller and carries many Apple products in stock. The Computer Showcase is located in RB 134b and has many Apple products on display.
In addition to visiting the Computer Showcase Store, a customized BSU-Apple Online Store has been created to offer special discounts on bundled hardware, operating system software and maintenance. These offerings are available to students, faculty and staff. As products change, the offers will be revised. In addition, special or seasonal promotions may be offered.
The special offerings include hardware, AppleCare and the Apple Maintenance Program (AMP). The minimum requirements for the recommended hardware are based on current curriculum needs and the university's support environment. Individuals may choose to upgrade to a system which exceeds these minimum requirements. The AppleCare program provides three years of warranty coverage plus telephone support. The AMP provides access to major operating system (MAC OS) upgrades for three years.
Individuals interested in purchasing one of the approved systems are also directed to the iCare Corner. Information on system specifications and on purchasing a system is available on that site.
