Taylor professor donates sculpture to Tennessee school

09/11/08--A Taylor University art professor and sculptor is giving back to his Tennessee alma mater. Robert Alsobrook is an alumnus of Union University in Jackson, Tennessee. Last February, a tornado ripped through campus... destroying academic buildings, student housing, and causing 40 million dollars in damage.

While the school was rebuilding in Tennessee, Alsobrook was creating a memorial sculpture in his Taylor University workshop. The sculpture depicts two angels with their wings spread over a bench. He titled it "Meeting Place." It will begin to replace Union's destroyed sculpture garden.
Union will dedicate its 15 rebuilt buildings tomorrow.

Alsobrook will load his sculpture onto a truck next week to drive it down to Tennessee.
