Carol Strock-Wasson
"Winter Creek "

Carol Strock-Wasson is devoted to "plein aire" painting, always venturing forth into new areas with pastel or oil. Her focus is on painting with spontaneity and freshness. Many prestigious shows have recognized her work with distinguished awards. Among them are Hoosier Salon, Best Pastel, 2009; and Indiana Heritage Arts, Silver Medial Award, 2007.

She was one of 10 artists invited to participate in Painting Indiana II, the second in a series of books produced by Indiana Plein Air Painters Association (IPAPA). She is a supporting member of numerous organizations, including the Randolph County Art Association, Indiana Artists Club, IPAPA, Hoosier Salon, and Pastel Society of North Florida.

Strock-Wasson is passionate about the use of pastels, described by some as "the dust from butterflies' wings." According to Carol, "Pastels are the perfect medium. Every artist should experience working with them." From cave paintings to DaVinci, Degas, and Picasso, pastels have appealed to art lovers everywhere.
