Brian Gordy
"King of the Rock "


Muncie resident Brian Gordy holds an art degree from Ball State University. He taught art in public schools, at the university level and privately, for over 25 years. He exhibits throughout the United States and has earned numerous awards for his watercolors.

Gordy's works are included in the permanent collections of The Sheldon Swope Art Museum (Terre Haute, IN), The Richmond Art Museum (Richmond, IN), and Minnetrista, as well as many corporate and private collections. His work has been featured in the Best of Watercolor Volume 3, 1999; Arts Indiana; Snowy Egret; and Lake Superior magazines. He is a Signature Member of Transparent Watercolor Society of America and Red River Watercolor Society.

His exhibition at Minnetrista (2007-2008) "White River Turtles: Watercolors by Brian Gordy," introduced a series of 35 paintings of freshwater turtles in their natural habitat. Gordy's watercolors and hand-gilded original frames earned him the official designation of Indiana Artisan by the State of Indiana.
