:: Transfer
Application Procedures - Transfer applicants must:
- Have at least a 2.0 grade point average (on a 4.0 grade scale)
- Have completed secondary school undertaking a university-preparatory curriculum
- Complete the International Student Admission Application
- Submit an application fee of $40.00 U.S. (applications for admission will not processed without payment of the $40.00 application fee)
- Submit official TOEFL score – Ball State's code is 1051
- Submit an autobiographical statement (300-500 words)
- Submit three letters of recommendation
- Submit official academic records for their last 4 years of secondary school and an official diploma or certificate demonstrating successful completion of secondary school
- Submit official academic records from in English and the native language of instruction from all universities attended
- Provide official financial support documents (typically an official bank statement) from yourself, a relative, or sponsor demonstrating that sufficient funds are available to support your education at Ball State for a minimum of twelve months
- Provide complete course descriptions in English from all post-secondary or university level coursework at the time of application to facilitate the credit evaluation process
:: Advanced Credit/Credit Evaluation
Transfer or advanced credit may be possible at Ball State for university-level study completed either in the U.S. or in another country, for A-Levels, for the International Baccalaureate, or by BSU examinations.
The Office of International Admission makes every effort to complete student's transfer credit evaluation prior to arrival on campus, but cannot guarantee an evaluation will be completed in advance. Transfer applicants are encouraged to provide complete course descriptions in English at the time of application to facilitate the credit evaluation process. No transfer credit will be added to the permanent Ball State record until official transcripts are received by this office.
Transcripts and course descriptions received upon arrival at Ball State will be evaluated as soon as possible following the new student orientation. No credit will be granted for academic records presented after a student's first term of study at Ball State, unless prior arrangements were been made in writing by our office.
Advance credit can be obtained by taking Ball State's advanced standing examinations. Students interested in these examinations should discuss the requirements with their academic advisor upon arrival.
