BSU & EducationUSA Advising Offices

To recognize the importance of our friends in the US State Department-affiliated network of 450 EducationUSA advising centers around the world, Ball State encourages students to utilize the services provided by these centers and their advisers.  These advisers provide unbiased information about any accredited US university or other institution of higher education.  These centers can also assist you in preparing & registering for the various standardized tests that different universities may require.  After you are admitted and have the appropriate paperwork to apply for your student visa, these centers can also provide important information about the visa process, and often hold pre-departure sessions before you leave for the US.  For the EducationUSA center nearest you, please visit the EducationUSA website.

Beginning for students applying for the January 2008 semester and beyond, Ball State University will waive the application fee ($40) for any student who applies through an EducationUSA advising office.  An EducationUSA adviser would only need to attach a brief cover letter to the student's application, indicating that the student has used the advising center's services.

Additionally, we now have 15 EducationUSA International Partner Awards per year (equivalent to approximately $11,000 per year of study) available to academically qualified undergraduate applicants recommended by EducationUSA advising centers.   Advisers would be asked to submit a recommendation letter with the student's applications.  Minimum qualifications are a 3.5/4.0 cumulative grade point average (advisers can assist in equating your current grades to this US scale), and either a 550 paper-based, 213 computer-based, 79 internet-based TOEFL or 6.5 IELTS score.  The application deadline to be considered for one of these awards is October 15th for students wishing to begin in the January (spring) semester, May 15th for August (fall) semester entry.
