Interior Design
Why study interior design at Ball State University?
The word is getting out about Ball State's innovative and dynamic program in interior design. During the last few years, enrollment has tripled as the program's reputation has grown.

Several factors have contributed to this success:

  • Hands-on Training -- Learning by doing is critical in a field like interior design. At Ball State, you will get many opportunities to work on real-life projects.
  • Small Class Size -- Smaller classes is a hallmark of Ball State as a whole. In our program you will work closely with interior design faculty who have a wide variety of real-world experiences in interior design.
  • Architecture -- Ball State has the only architecture program among public universities in Indiana. Architecture is a natural compliment to interior design, so as a major you can also take  designated architecture courses as directed electives.
  • Internships -- All interior design majors are required to have an internship. These internships give you valuable experience when looking for your first job.
  • Technology -- Ball State has been long committed to having advanced technology for its students just like you would find in the workplace. In addition, you will enjoy access to a wireless campus and much more.
  • Socially Responsible Curriculum -- Today's interior designers need to know more than just how to make a room look good, they need to have a full scope of understanding about environmentally-friendly design and universal design, which means the space is usable for a wide variety of people, even those with physical limitations. Ball State excels in this area.
