Interior Design
What is interior design?
Interior design is much more than interior decorating.

You may be familiar with television shows like Trading Spaces where an interior designer helps change a room's look with color, furniture, wall hangings, and other embellishments. While all that is an important part of interior design, there is so much more.

Interior designers are concerned with space planning, codes and regulations, disabled accessibility issues, acoustics, environmental impact, green design and much more.

Interior designers are also trained professionals. In many states, they must pass a strict exam and be licensed.

In a business where their fortunes depend on their ability to satisfy clients, interior designers must have interpersonal, technical, and management skills, as well as design skills.

Let Ball State's interior design program prepare you for a career in this exciting and challenging field.
