She joined the Ball State faculty as an instructor after two decades of working in the commercial design field, including working for the university in facilities design. Her work experience includes running her own freelance design firm, working for architectural/interiors firms, and construction management. Janet serves as the faculty advisor to Ball State's student organization, IDA (Interior Design Alliance), which is affiliated with both the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and IIDA (INternational Interior Design Asdociation).
