Courses for the Interior Design Minor

The minor in interior design includes 26-29 hours. You must take all the classes listed below, except you may choose between taking ITDPT 154 or ARCH 261 and between FCSMR 222 or ARCH 201.

If you elect to take FCMSR 325, you should also complete AHS 100 to satisfy the prequiste for this course and to satisfy the requiments for Ball State's core curriculum. 

ITDPT 154 - Graphic Communication for Interior Design.

Introduction to the fundamentals of graphic communication techniques used in design fields. Explores sketching, mechanical, and computer techniques to produce graphics for a variety of presentation methods.

ARCH 261 - Design Communications Media.

Exploration of a variety of communications media including pencil, ink, pastel, markers, watercolor, and photography. Prerequisite: CAP 162. Open only to architecture majors.

ARCH 201 - Architectural Design.

Introduction to the architectural design sequence. Projects focus on conceptual architectural design and design methodologies in small and intermediate-scale projects, introduction of architectural technology, research, analysis, and programming. Open only to architecture majors.
