Student Internship Requirements
Paperwork:
- Students are required to turn in work logs to the academic supervisor every week during the internship semester. Work logs document hours and show how duties and activities performed relate to coursework.
- Students are required to turn in a final report documenting the internship experience at the end the semester.
Time requirements:
- Interns are required to provide 450 hours of work for the organization over the course of the semester
- Students will typically register for 6 credit hours during the summer semester; students may choose to divide the internship experience into two 3 credit hour semesters
- The specific schedule will be agreed upon by the intern and the site supervisor
Student Internship Responsibilities
- Establish and work toward agreed upon educational objectives
- Perform all duties and responsibilities of the assigned job
- Complete internship logs and other written reports
- Work the agreed upon number of hours for the organization
- Keep the academic supervisor informed of any problems or changes in the internship
- Maintain ethical and professional behaviors while interning
- Establish healthy and positive working relationships with co-workers at the internship site
- Make a good faith effort to integrate into the organization
