In April 2008, interior design Instructor, Janet Fick, and Ball State’s campus interior designer, Dan Stephenson, will again take interior design students to the Milan Furniture Fair (Salone Internazionale del Mobile), the largest furniture fair in the world. The path to the fair will begin with three days in London, followed by three days in Paris, and finally to Milan to participate in Design Week. Twenty six students will be making the journey, which will include learning about each city’s unique culture, as well as visits to local design firms. This is a biannual trip, that began in 2006 when twenty nine interior design students were taken to the Milan Furniture Fair (Salone Internazionale del Mobile). The journey that year began in Rome, with visits to Florence and the Cinque Terre region, on the way to Milan. In 2010, this itinerary will again be followed, to offer students yet another opportunity.
