BallState grads gather in Taipei

Twenty-one Ball State graduates, friends and family took part in a joyful gathering in Taiwan's capital city December 15, 2007.

The event featured the capstone guitar presentation by Professor Paul Reilly ending his eighth concert tour in Taiwan since the early 1990s.  Reilly was hosted by his former student, Ming-Jian Fang DA '88 who organized the concert tour.

1994 Computer Science masters graduate Andy Jung-Tsung Yang played the central role in organizing the December 15 event, sending out invitations, selecting the venue and acting as master of ceremonies. "I cannot say enough about the dedication of Andy to Ball State", said international advancement director Martin Limbird.

Alumni attending the event included Tien-Lin Hwang, Johnson Han, John Sun, Jessie Chiu, Yang Chi-Wen, Wang Cheng-Wei and his wife, "Vince" Lo,  Bao-Luo "Paul" Li, A.S. Chiang and his wife and newborn baby, "CoCo" Chen, Ming-Jian Fang, Mike Cooper and his son, Andy Yang, Paul Reilly, "Tom" Chuang,  Steve Meyers and Deb Meyers.

"Our alumni in Taiwan are vitally interested in the "Education Redefined" theme of President Jo Ann Gora", said Limbird. "They can be a big help encouraging other top students from Taiwan to enroll at Ball State. The university is fortunate Mike Cooper is such a fine recruiter for BSU, too,"
