With the strong endorsement of President Jae Sook Han, the new exchange agreement between Uiduk University and Ball State University is poised to begin. "During my recent visit to Uiduk University, I realized the full commitment of President Han and her faculty to make the most of this new relationship with Ball State", said international advancement director Dr. Martin Limbird.

Three key Uiduk staff members will travel to Indiana in 2007-08 to initiate the exchange agreement.  The first, arriving in early August,  will be Dr. Sang Bae Park, a faculty member in Uiduk's Division of Energy and Electrical Engineering. He will work at Ball State with physics professor Yong S. Joe. Dr. Park will be followed by Uiduk facilities management head Ji-Ho Choi and graduate school administrator Kyu-il Park.

Located in Gyeongju near the industrial city of Pohang in southwestern Korea, Uiduk University opened its doors to students in 1996. Founded on Buddhist principles, Uiduk University maintains exchange relationships with universities in China and Japan as well as with other U.S.-based universities.

"Because President Han has herself twice been a visiting scholar at Ball State, she knows the kind of benefit her staff will gain from coming to our institution." said Limbird.
