Mrs. Tsan-Ru "Sandy" Lee loves Bracken Library. Since earning two Ball State masters degrees in 1992 (computer science and teaching English as a second language), this devoted alumna has spent part of at least ten summers conducting research in Bracken Library.

Since returning to her native Taiwan, Sandy has taught courses in her specialty at a technical college. Her research interests when in Muncie included those fields as well as a broad array of other topics.

While in Muncie, Sandy regularly stays in the home of longtime friend and Indiana Academy instructor, Dr. Mindy Zhang. These two alumnae met while Sandy was a graduate student at Ball State.

All Ball State alumni are eligible to have access to Bracken Library. For details, see

Two other members of Sandy's family hold BSU degrees—her husband Sherman Yao, '90 DA, and daughter Wen-Chin Yao '93, MS'95. Dr. Sherman Yao recently retired from the faculty of National Taiwan Normal University, but will take an appointment with a private university in Taiwan to continue his career as an educator.

In appreciation for continued access to Bracken Library, Sandy recently made a gift to the Ball State University Foundation.  Her generosity is greatly appreciated!
