Istanbul alumni remember Erdogan Kumcu

Recalling
Recalling the impact of the late Professor Erdogan Kumcu are (l-r) Kerem Sarioglu MBA'01, Sacit Deringol, Tankut Sensurucu MS'92, and Dr. Mehmet Kara, former visiting professor at BSU.

Fourteen Ball State University alumni and friends gathered February 22, 2007 in Istanbul, Turkey, to recall the impact of the late professor Erdogan Kumcu on their lives.  The event was prompted by the visit from Indianapolis of Emine Aras Kumcu MBA'86/ MS '99 to thank those who had contributed to the endowment honoring her late husband, Erdogan, who died in 2004.  The endowment, based at the Ball State University Foundation, supports junior faculty and graduate students from Istanbul University to come to Ball State's Miller College of Business.

2001 MBA graduate Kerem Sarioglu gave an inspired testimonial about the impact of study at Ball State on his personal and professional career. He is developing a website to encourage contributions to the Kumcu endowment (# 1361).  Contributions can be made any time at www.bsu.edu/giving

Several other members of the Kumcu family attended the February 22 event, including the late professor Kumcu's mother, Mrs. Rana Kumcu, his brother Ercan Kumcu and sister-in-law Pat Lasonde Kumcu.
