Social Security Numbers (For J-1 & F-1 Students)
You ONLY need to apply for a Social Security Number if:
> You have been offered a graduate assistantship or fellowship
or
> You are applying for permission for on-campus employment
or
> You are applying for permission for practical training
Call the Rinker Center for International Programs (285-5422) and make an appointment to see Deb. Bring the following items to the appointment:
- Your original DS-2019 or I-20.
- Your passport and I-94 card
- Your assistantship or fellowship award letter
- A completed Social Security Card application form (attached).
Carol or Deb will give you a special letter to take with your Social Security Card application form, passport and I-94 card, and DS-2019 or I-20 to:
