When you click the link at the bottom of this page to register your laptop, you will be taken to another webpage. The first thing that will pop up is a login screen. Log in using your BSU username and password.
The page that loads will be a simple form to fill out with your computer's information.
Now go back to the Apple in the upper left corner of your screen and select "About This Mac".
You will then be presented with a window that has a little bit of information about your computer.
To find your serial number for your computer, click "More Information" at the bottom of the screen. The Serial Number is on the last line on the right hand pane of the table. Record that number, including both the letters and numbers, in the first blank on the registration page. (Any "O" is actually a zero.)
In the left pane of the System Profiler, select Network. This will display some information about your Network in the right hand pane. When that pane opens, the first item "AirPort" should be selected for you. In the bottom portion of that pane you will see a third pane with the wordsEthernet. Next to the line that says MAC address, you will see a series of numbers and letters separated by colons. Type those numbers into the first row of boxes on the registration page. You can use the "Tab" button to move to the next box.
Next, in the upper right pane, click on "Built-in Ethernet" below AirPort. Look for the MAC Address and copy those numbers into the third row on the registration page. You may need to scroll down in order to find the MAC Address for the ethernet.
You can now quit the System Profiler application. On a Mac, closing a window does not quit the application. (Learn how to quit an application here.)
On the registration page, click "Submit". You will receive a pop-up message stating we received your registration information. You will also be sent an email with this information for quick reference. We recommend you save this email so if you do lose your laptop you can quickly give us the information we need to help locate it.
