The Apple laptop will recognize almost any name brand (Brother, Cannon, HP, Epson, etc.) printer as soon as you plug the printer in to your machine. To install the printer, open the System Preferences and select Print & Fax. On the next window, click the plus sign in the lower left corner and click on Default Browser and then select your printer from the list. Your machine will then search for the drivers. Once the drivers are found, your machine will fill in the name of the printer and your name as the owner, identifying the printer in the bottom line. Then click the "Add" button. The printer will now appear in you printer selection menu on the left side of the print/fax window. When you attempt to print a document, you can choose this printer from the drop down menu on the document print window.
