64: Addressbook and the LDAP Server

Are you using Mail to check your BSU email? Do you want an easy way to look up your professor's email or even a classmates? This is the solution for you.

Open the Address Book program, then open "Preferences" under the Address Book menu.

Click on the LDAP button.

Click on the "+" button

Name the server BSU LDAP

Server: ldap.bsu.edu

Search base: cn=users,dc=bsu,dc=edu
Port: 389
Scope: subtree
Authentication: Simple
Username and Password: your BSU username/password

Click save.

Now any time you compose a message in Mail if you type in someone's last name it will automatically pull up everyone with that name.
