To create a new playlist select “+” from the bottom left corner.
An untitled playlist will appear.
Name your playlist.
You can add songs to your playlist by simply dragging them to your new playlist.
One way to do this would be to open your library, select the song or songs (to select multiple songs hold down the command/apple key as you select), and drag them to the playlist.
Another way is to select “Browse” to view a list of songs by genre, artist, and album name.
A third way is to use the “Search” option to quickly find a specific song or artist.
To change the order of the songs within the playlist, drag them to the desired position.
You can add as many songs as you would like to your playlist. To keep track of how much music you have added to your playlist, look at the bottom of your screen.
Creating a smart playlist
iTunes can automatically create a smart playlist for you based on your preferences, such as by rating or by genre.
From the file menu, select "New Smart Playlist".
Another way to create a Smart Playlist is to hold down the "Option" button while you click on the "+" button in iTunes.
You can choose to create your playlist with many different preferences.
For example, you can create a playlist by artist.
Another example would be by the date of the songs so you can hear your newest songs.
Note: When you add new music to your library, your Smart Playlist automatically updates!
