47: Media Types

There are many different types of media that you can use on your laptop. If your laptop has a CD burner, you can get any type of CD-R media. There are two types and two different sizes.

CD-R and CD-RW are the two types. CD-RW is a re-writable where as CD-R are write one time only. Both types of media come in either 640MB (74 minutes) or 700MB (80 minutes).

Blank DVD media is a little different. If you have a DVD Burner on your machine you will need to purchase DVD-R (note the -R). There are two types of DVD media, +R and -R. -R media is the standard that DVDs (movies, games, etc) are written at. Also with DVD you can have -R or -RW and just like the CDs -RW is re-writable.
