 9-Square FTW!
I was thinking about this, and it might work out... if you can get 9 players. The way I see it the King should be in the middle, both for aestetic and functional reasons (Anyone can play to out the king). King serves to any of the squares around him and it goes as normal from there. I was also thinking about 8-Square that would leave the center part empty... Would be weird, only having 2 adjacent players but also having the possibility to hit anyone with a longer shot that cannot be reflected into the middle. Just ideas.

 Re: 9-Square FTW!
These actually have happened rarely during some of the booming weekly games that we've played. It is immense fun, and it is incredibly chaotic. Unfortunately, it requires 9 people at minimum to play, and it's hard to get such a turnout on a regular basis. Either way, the the traditional grounds in front of Bracken are a great place to hold such events. You usually need a 10th person to referee, but there's more than enough squares so all you have to do is designate a king square and a path to move people.

Sweet. I had suspected that I didn't revolutionize the game though lol. Sounds like loads of fun.
