Hey guys,
So, this is about me resigning. Yep, I’m doing it. I have come to realize that I do not have time, nor wish to spend any more of my time, in completing the demands the players of Urban Gaming League put upon me. I am like many of you. I have a job. I have Monday through Friday classes, projects, finals, and tests. I have a girlfriend that I do not get to spend much time with. I have games I like to play, some of them being UGL’s own. Being UGL webmaster has become a second job for me. A job I am not being paid for, neither with money, fazoli’s breadsticks, nor thanks. It is not very enjoyable, and takes away a good chunk of my free time. The recent fiasco with voting (I would be blind in ignoring its effect on this matter) has pushed the decision over the peak of the already formed mountain, and made it clear to me that I no longer want to do this. The short time frames my “bosses” (the general public) demand in which I accomplish tasks, the flack I receive when I do so reasonably well despite minor errors still being present, the way people check me out in public, and the lack of aforementioned fazoli’s breadsticks are reasons enough. I will continue to participate in UGL games as I do enjoy them. However, do not think this a rash decision based solely on the events that have transpired in the last few weeks, as I have been contemplating this for quite some time. About 5 months from now if you want more details. I like my free time, thus I have decided to move on, wishing UGL the best of luck in its future endeavors, and I should hope it does the same for me in my aims to receive breadsticks or payment (that can be used in obtaining breadsticks) in my future work. Furthermore, do not think this decision was made due to the threats of impeachment. I love most of the playerbase, and I think most of the playerbase appreciates the work I do to some extent. I laughed at the idea of it, for I know full well it barely has the legs it wobbly stands upon.
On a rather serious note, I hope those reading this take away that all of my actions regarding the website have been done with UGL’s best interests in mind, with a little less regard to the interest of time, and with more towards presentation. I take away from this opportunity the understanding that future clients may not value my outside obligations or commitments, and that I should try to be more timely in pleasing them through the sacrificing of my attention to more important matters, or in building blue telephone booths, should they decide to slander my name or deny me breadsticks.
All in all, I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve. I apologize to the former, and grin madly at the latter as I take my bow, and [step off stage left].
