Who may use request information from WorkLife Programs?
The services of WorkLife Programs are made available exclusively for university employees and currently enrolled students.
Is WorkLife an on-campus day care center?
No, WorkLife Programs is not a child care facility. It is a free information service that provides university families with detailed information about child care options available to them within Muncie and surrounding areas. WorkLife also provides information about elder care options.
Obtaining information is a two-step process.
1. Complete/submit the Information Request Form, and
2. Sign/submit the Disclaimer/Release of Liability Statement.
What type of information will I receive?
Parents can expect to receive detailed information about child care options that serve the needs of children within their child's age group. Other specification indicated on the parents' request forms will also be considered. Additionally, parents will receive helpful tips on what to look for in a quality care giver and the state guidelines that regulate private services. In the fall and spring, parents may also request a list of BSU student babysitters who are available for part-time babysitting jobs.
What can WorkLife Programs do for me?
We've done the work; gathered the information and maintain it current to help families get the answers they need now. New employees and students can take the stress out of relocating by allowing us to provide information that will help them get acclimated to a new campus and to the Muncie community.
What should I do after I receive the information?
The role of the parent is to contact the providers, schedule interviews, and choose the option best suited to meet the family's needs.
Does the university provide financial assistance with the cost of day care?
No, but employees may consider signing up with the Flex Spending program through Payroll and Employee Benefits.
If you're a student, contact The Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid, 765-285-5600 for assistance.
Do I need to follow-up with WorkLife Programs after I've found a suitable option?
No.
Who is eligible to receive services?
Services are made available exclusively to Ball State University employees and currently enrolled students.
Does WorkLife offer any services to the public?
Yes! People not affiliated with BSU may request a list of Ball State Student part-time baby-sitters. Please note that the list of students is only available during fall and spring semesters and all inquiries must accompany a printed and signed Disclaimer/Release of Liability Statement page.
Is there a fee for services?
No, all services are free of charge.
What do I need to do to request Information?
