Assistant Professor/Industrial Pollution Control, Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management

Tenure-track position available August 19, 2010. Responsibilities: teach courses in air resources, indoor air quality, occupational and industrial hygiene, applied courses in pollution control, and others based on the needs of the department; incorporate principles of atmospheric science, industrial processes, and air pollution control into a comprehensive extramurally-funded research program; collaborate with state and federal agencies and businesses or local community organizations; advise undergraduate and graduate students; build linkages with faculty and students from other disciplines.

Minimum qualifications: master's degree and ABD in a field closely related to natural resources or environmental science/studies by August 1, 2010; at least one year teaching at the college or university level; demonstrated evidence of excellence in teaching.

Preferred qualifications:  earned Ph.D. by time of appointment in industrial processes, environmental engineering, air quality, environmental science, or related field with expertise and research interest in industrial processes and air pollution control; demonstrated evidence of dedication to quality learner-centered teaching and being adept at motivating critical thinking, research experience involving geographic information systems.  Excellent benefits, including retiree health care and 100% pension contribution for eligible employees.
