Assistant/Associate Professor of Horn, School of Music
Tenure-track position available August 20, 2010.  Responsibilities:  teach undergraduate and graduate applied horn; perform with the Musical Arts Wind Quintet; provide an artistic model in a fine arts setting; maintain a national profile in performance and professional service; recruit and maintain a strong horn studio; advise students; participate in the student chamber music program; assist in job and graduate school placement, curricular development, and faculty governance.  Additional performance opportunities may be available locally and regionally.

Minimum qualifications:
 master's degree in music; strong performance history; record of successful college teaching. 

Preferred qualifications:  demonstrated ability to recruit and retain quality students on the college level; exceptional performance background; completed doctorate; experience in coaching chamber music and teaching horn repertoire and pedagogy.  Excellent benefits, including retiree health care and 100% pension contribution for eligible employees. 

The School of Music offers bachelor's, master's, and doctoral degrees as well as the Artist Diploma and has an enrollment of approximately 400 undergraduate and 100 graduate students.  In addition, the Music Instruction Building, newly completed in 2004, features a state-of-the-art concert hall and recording facilities.
