Position is available July 1, 2010.
Responsibilities: plans, directs, and coordinates the academic, operational, personnel, budgetary, and promotional activities pertaining to the department; provides leadership and direction in the development and implementation of academic programs; advocates quality in teaching.
Minimum qualifications: appropriate terminal degree in art discipline; demonstrated administrative capabilities and experience in exercising leadership and consultative decision-making at the departmental level in higher education; experience with key aspects of curricular development, budget activities, facilities, equipment and new technologies; demonstrated teaching ability in higher education; strong record of scholarly and/or creative activities.
Preferred qualifications: graduate programs administration; experience with national accreditation processes; familiarity with fundraising/grant writing and community based funding.
Salary is commensurate with experience, training, and market conditions.
