Assistant Professor/Construction Management, Department of Technology

Tenure-track position available August 20, 2010, with possibility of summer employment. 

Responsibilities:  teaching courses in the following areas—mechanical and electrical systems, building diagnostics, sustainability in construction, and construction safety; scholarship in the specialty area or related field.  Major focus of the position includes background, knowledge, and skills in the areas of construction science and construction management and the ability to work cooperatively with faculty and staff to foster curriculum implementation, assessment, and improvement. 

Minimum qualifications: at least one degree in construction management or related field; requirements for a doctorate completed on or before August 13, 2010; relevant professional experience in construction management or related field; effective oral and written communication skills; ability to work cooperatively and interact effectively with faculty and staff to contribute to the strategic plan for the department, college, and university.  

Preferred qualifications:  significant professional experience in construction management; record of successful teaching of construction management or related field; evidence of scholarship through publications, presentations, and successful grant proposals; successful involvement with professional organizations in the discipline.
