Professional contract position through June 30, 2010, available immediately with continuation contingent on external funding. Responsibilities: oversee development, coordination, day-to-day activities, marketing and evaluation of program; provide post-secondary support services to students transitioning from foster care, including working with campus support services and identifying and developing support services that are not in place; provide support with fundraising activities and proposal writing; recruit and engage eligible students; develop marketing materials and presentations.
Minimum qualifications: master's degree in social work, counseling, adult education, or related field; supervisory experience; experience in presenting information to professionals and leading groups; strong organizational, interpersonal and oral and written communication skills; ability to represent the Guardian Scholars program and the Social Science Research Center in a professional manner to on-campus and off-campus communities; valid Indiana driver's license; ability to work with on-campus as well as off-campus professionals; ability to work well under pressure, simultaneously handling a variety of activities; ability to identify priorities, set deadlines and work independently but also as part of a team; ability to organize and produce materials/reports in a timely, thorough, and accurate manner.
Preferred qualifications: professional experience in child welfare services, preferably in the area of independent living/emancipation services; experience in college recruitment; experience working with college resources and establishing student services; proposal writing experience.
