Assistant Professor, Theatre Historian and Teacher, Department of Theatre and Dance
Tenure-track position available August 20, 2010.  Responsibilities:  teach all levels of theatre history courses in a highly competitive BA/BS/BFA undergraduate theatre program (courses may include Theatre Aesthetics I and II, Pre-Modern Theatre History, Modern Theatre History, Special Topics in Theatre History, Introduction to Theatre, and Musical Theatre History); mentor and advise all aspiring dramaturges and critics with the department's undergraduate Theatrical Studies Option. 

Minimum qualifications:
Ph.D. in theatre (completed by August 19, 2010); one year of teaching experience; excellent communication and organizational skills; ability to work collegially within a liberal arts setting.   

Preferred qualifications:  three years of teaching experience at the university/college level; significant scholarship in the area of theatre history.  Excellent benefits, including retiree health care and 100% pension contribution for eligible employees. 

The department is a BA/BS/BFA undergraduate-only program with 335 theatre majors and 55 dance majors and a full-time faculty/professional staff of 16 theatre and 6 dance.  Theatre and Dance programs are NAST/NASD accredited.
