Tenure-track position available August 20, 2010. Responsibilities: teach courses in lighting design, sound design, lighting technology, stagecraft, and other related design courses at the undergraduate level; supervise student lighting/sound designers in assigned productions; produce designs for selected department productions; work in collaboration with theatre and dance faculty, staff, and students in facilitating the production program, including two dance concerts per season.
Minimum qualifications: MFA in design completed by August 19, 2010; one year of teaching experience; excellent communication and organizational skills; computer competency in stage lighting/sound applications; ability to work collegially within a liberal arts setting.
Preferred qualifications: MFA in lighting and/or sound completed by completed by August 19, 2010; significant professional experience as lighting and/or sound designer; five years of teaching experience at the university/college level. The department is a BFA/BA/BS undergraduate-only program with 335 theatre majors and 55 dance majors and a full-time faculty of 16 theatre and 6 dance. Theatre and Dance programs are NAST & NASD accredited.
