Director of Annual Giving, University Development
Professional position available immediately. 

Responsibilities:  supervise, manage, and monitor the university's annual giving programs, including direct mail, telemarketing, media/web-based solicitation, special fundraising efforts on behalf of the Ball State Fund and annual gifts to colleges; evaluate and monitor effectiveness of all annual giving campaigns; plan, direct, and manage all programs and initiatives associated with new donor acquisition, current donor retention and renewal; develop ideas, write, edit and produce fundraising appeal letters for direct mail efforts; plan and implement stewardship activities for annual recognition groups; improve alumni participation, including participation of young alumni; oversee the Call Center Program.    

Minimum qualifications: bachelor's degree; at least five years of professional work experience; supervisory experience; willingness and ability to travel; ability to work as part of an organization without direct daily supervision; outstanding oral, written, and listening communications skills necessary to articulate departmental and institutional viewpoints, goals, priorities, and needs.   

Preferred qualifications:  master's degree; three years of experience in development; experience in managing an annual giving program; strong organizational management and interpersonal skills together with self-motivation and ability to motivate others, including staff, faculty, and volunteers; ability to work as a team member within a complex institution; knowledge of or experience in an educational setting. 

Salary range:  $55,000 to $70,000.
