Director of Development, College of Communication, Information, and Media
Professional position available immediately. 

Responsibilities:  identify, engage, and successfully solicit individuals and corporations for the purpose of securing an increasing amount of major and annual gifts for Ball State University; plan, coordinate, and implement ongoing major gift activities on behalf of the College of Communication, Information, and Media in order to increase the number and size of private gifts; recruit and lead volunteers who support the development program; support donor relations with gift acknowledgement, stewardship, pledge fulfillment, and gift renewal for contributors; coordinate activities of gift societies where appropriate; plan and manage special events when appropriate.   

Minimum qualifications: bachelor's degree; at least three years of professional work experience; willingness and ability to travel; ability to work as part of an organization without direct daily supervision; outstanding oral, written, and listening communications skills necessary to articulate departmental and institutional viewpoints, goals, priorities, and needs; supervisory experience.   

Preferred qualifications:  master's degree; three years of experience in development; strong organizational management and interpersonal skills together with self-motivation and ability to motivate others, including staff, faculty, and volunteers; ability to work as a team member within a complex institution; knowledge of or experience in an educational setting. 

Salary range:  $58,000 to $70,000.
