Director of Alumni Communications, Alumni Programs

Senior-level professional position available with negotiable start date.  Responsibilities:  plan and supervise the preparation and distribution of all print communications of the Alumni Association; serve as editor of the Ball State Alumnus; provide support in programming for Alumni Programs; manage the production of the bi-monthly Alumnus magazine, including planning, writing, editing, layout and design, and print production; participate and coordinate alumni activities and programs for the Journalism Alumni Society; supervise staff. 

Minimum qualifications:   master's degree in journalism or related area; seven years of experience in writing, editing, graphic design and layout conception or comparable experience in journalism education or industry; supervisory experience; demonstrated abilities in prioritizing and managing a fluctuating workload; proficiency in working with a Macintosh platform and in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Acrobat; demonstrated abilities in team management and publishing; excellent communication skills.   

Preferred qualifications:  experience in pricing and purchasing, particularly in print media; related experience beyond the minimum; degree from Ball State University; magazine experience.
