University Apartments Rates for Faculty
There are a limited number of spaces at University Apartments available for faculty members.

We think University Apartments is one of the best kept secrets in apartment living for Ball State students. We're located close to campus, provide affordable, comfortable homes for single students and students with families, and offer numerous amenities at no cost or low cost. Included below are the details on those services:

Utilities, except for land phone, are included in the rent.
Air conditioning is provided in Anthony units. Residents in Scheidler Apartments may provide one air conditioner for a one-time installment fee.
Cable service is provided. Premium cable channels are not available, however, most city cable channels are included as well as Ball State channels.
Residents may use the community room at no charge. Included is a wide-screen television and VCR, stereo sound system, kitchen, and moveable furniture.
Computer access to the main university computer system (including Internet access) is free, beginning August 1, 2008. Residents will need an SMC Ethernet Card (10 BASE-T or 10/100 BASE-T) and an RJ45 connection cable (not a phone cord). If residents wish to use two computers in their apartment at the same time, you will want to purchase a 5-port switch. You may purchase Ethernet cards and 5-port switches from computer stores or on the Internet. Be sure to purchase an Ethernet card using the specifications listed above. You may purchase an RJ45 connection cable from the Office of Housing and Residence Life. Please do not purchase a router in place of a 5-port switch. Some retailers may try to sell you a router as a substitute but if you attempt to use one it will not be compatible with the BSU networking equipment and may not allow other residents in your community to access the Internet.
A computer lab is available in the community building.
The community has its own maintenance personnel for routine maintenance and repairs.
Parking is available in lots near the apartments.
Recreational areas for children and adults are located in both communities. These include playgrounds and a sand volleyball pit. Students may also use university facilities.
The Community Association for Scheidler and Anthony offers programs, leadership, and community involvement opportunities for apartment residents.
Storage cubicles are provided for Scheidler Apartments only. Storage is unavailable in the Anthony community.
Telephone service is provided by the university to the apartments at a low rate. Calling cards may also be used.
Shuttle bus service is provided from Scheidler and Anthony through the main campus when academic year classes are in session.
Coin laundramats are available in Anthony and Scheidler communities.Washers/dryers are not permitted in individual apartments. Students may use Cardinal Cash or coins to pay for laundry service. Cost is $.75 for washers and $.75 for dryers.
