Assistant Residence Hall Directors are graduate assistant positions reporting to residence hall directors. The assistant residence hall director assists the residence hall director in the operation of two residence halls. Ball State is committed to helping graduate students achieve a balanced education--one that is strong academically and experientially. For this reason, we utilize an assistant residence hall director curriculum that ensures each graduate student will be prepared for a full-time residence life position. The assistant residence hall director position is a two-year assistantship that earns $8,500/year plus a one-bedroom apartment, meal plan, and tuition waivers.
Resident Managers are graduate assistant positions reporting to the assistant director of Housing and Residence Life for the University Apartments. The resident manager is responsible for working with single students and families living in the university apartment communities. They also help mediate conflicts between resident neighbors, provide activities for residents, advise the neighborhood association, help with administrative tasks, and interact with social service agencies. The resident manager position is a two-year assistantship which earns $9,700/10-months plus a furnished apartment and tuition waivers.
