Rob Hall has signed a contract with Merlin Press for Voices of the People: Work, Democracy, and the Making of Chartist Political Identity, 1830—1860, to be published in the fall 2006.  Hall was elected a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society in 2001. He served as the associate editor of volumes eight and nine of the Correspondence of James K. Polk. His recent publications include an article, "William Aitken: Chartist and Ten-Hour Day Advocate," in Joyce M. Bellamy and John Saville, eds., Dictionary of Labour Biography. Vol. 10.
