Graduate Student Registration - Fall 2009

Dear Graduate Student:

Graduate students are encouraged to consult with their departmental advisor before registering for classes.  Enrollment in 500 level courses in the History M.A. program requires permission from the M. A. Program Advisor.  You may use the WEB to request (and register) for classes.  Please take note of the dates in the fall calendar http://www.bsu.edu/events/fall2009/.

Professor Kenneth Swope is the Director of Graduate Studies for History and advises students in the M.A. in History (Office: BB 209, Telephone: 285-8778).  

Professor Sarah Drake-Brown is the Director of Social Science and advises students working on the M.A. in Social Science(Office BB 235, Telephone: 285-8621). 

If Professor Swope or Professor Drake-Brown cannot be reached at his/her number, then the History Department should be called (285-8700).

NOTE WELL: To make sure that your records are up-to-date and that you are completing the requirements, see Kenneth Swope (M.A. in History) or Sarah Drake-Brown (Social Sciences). 

History 612 is required for the M.A. in History and will be offered in the Fall semester only; therefore, you are strongly urged to register for it.  In addition, you are strongly urged to take History 623 and/or 632, both of which are directed electives.
