BSU Field Station and Environmental Education Center

Tour of BSU Field Station and Environmental Education Center (FSEEC)

Registrants will enjoy a guided tour of Ball State University's Field Station and Environmental Education Center (FSEEC). The Center provides hands-on environmental education and encourages exploration of nature by students of all ages. Our research activity is aimed at understanding human impact on ecological processes and communities. The FSEEC is a collaboration of the Departments of Biology, Natural Resources and Environmental Management, Landscape Architecture, Geology and others. We manage six properties totaling 180 hectares: Christy Woods, Cooper Farm, Skinner Field Area, Ginn Woods, Juanita Hults Environmental Learning Center and the Donald E. Miller Wildlife Area that include forest, prairie, wetlands and agricultural areas. We are managing our properties to maintain and restore the native biodiversity of Indiana and to evaluate techniques of sustainable land-use.

Please see the conference registration brochure for costs and reservation details.

Note that this tour will take place at approximately 1:30 pm on Saturday, September 8th as noted in the conference schedule and will run concurrently with other conference Sustainablity Tours.
